When was the last time you and your husband went out to a restaurant?
Or when were the last time you gone to see a movie?
Just the two of you….alone….no kids. If your rack your brain and all you come up with is “Mission impossible“ then it’s time to call a babysitter and get out of the house.

If you’re an expat you most likely do not benefit from having a family of grandparents, aunts and uncles around you, and asking your colleges at work to watch your two year old is not always a hit.
So to get that much needed time-alone with your partner you need to find a babysitter. Someone you and you child (ren) feel comfortable with.

Payment
The money transactions should be seamless, so that you and your sitter can discuss more important things—like your children. Develop a clear payment plan right away and stick to it.

These are the rates recomended by Red Cross Switzerland:

Babysitters under 14 years old should get a minimum of CHF 8.00 per Hour pluss travel expences.

Babysitters over 14 years old should receive a minimum of CHF 10.00 per Hour pluss travel expences.
