Reflections
Happy School - Our beautiful daughter of six going on seven is a happy holiday girl these days. For a year, she’s been a happy schoolgirl as well, and luckily, I have the feeling she will be just as happy come mid September and the beginning of a new school year. For Mother Hen in persona, that’s a good feeling.

Z`nüni
When you leave your kids to Kindergarten or School, you will always have to put some Znüni in their Täschli /Schoolbag, so they can endure until midday. For health reasons, Swiss Kindergartens and Schools doesn‘t allow sweets in the Znüni box. That means you better keep your hands off the Sweet-drawer when you are preparing your kid’s lunch box.

The first Swiss schoolbag
A decision for life: The most important thing to considerate when buying the first schoolbag, is this bag will affect your child’s back. Each year, the association of Swiss chiropractors for children offers us parents good tips for what to look after when choosing the perfect schoolbag.

The dad championship

A great deal of public discussion either ignores the question entirely or limits it to highlighting particularly bad examples.

But what makes a really good, great Dad?

PUBLIC SCHOOL
In Switzerland foreigners make up 22% of the total population. Many of them do put their kids into private day- or boarding school, but most foreigners and over 90% of Swiss parents choose a state school.

SOMBAT ADAMS
My name is Sombat Adams. I come from Khon Kaen in Thailand. My husband came originally from Scotland. After marrying we lived in Thailand for 1 year, then Italy for 2 years, then England for 7 years and now Switzerland for 7 years.

NIEDERBAUEN
Take the cable car to the Niederbauen. Allow yourself and your family (or friends) to spend at least one night up there. The Berggasthaus Niederbauen offers affordable accomodation and really good food. And, for the lazy ones, the hotel is basically at the end of the cable car.

the challenges in a different country
Starting a new life in another country is one of the biggest changes that can take place in a person’s life. When this change is made as a family, each member can experience the challenges in different ways. Even once a family has been in a new country for some time.
