A STORY WHILE WE WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS

I like snow. When it’s snowing, I can catch big snowflakes on my tongue
and make snowmen in the garden. Sometimes, at night, the moon shines on the snow
and makes it glitter and sparkle. Those are magical nights, and on such nights,
when everybody is asleep, the snowmen wake up.
Sometimes they climb up on the roof and slide down. Sometimes they look at my
sister and me through the window while we’re sleeping in our beds. They
look at all the toys and the soft, cuddly teddy bears in our room, and would
like to play with them. So they glide through the door and tiptoe into our room.
Then they start playing with our toys, silently.
“
Hush…we must not wake up the little girls…look, how sweet they are
in their sleep!”
When they start to melt, they quickly jump out through the window. Then they
start to dance the Snowman Salsa, and they clap and jump up and down because
they are so happy that Christmas is coming! And they shout to the sparkling stars
and the bright moon: “Merry Christmas!” And if I had woken up at
night and had looked through the window, I would have seen the joyful snowmen
dancing and rolling around in the garden.
But when I wake up in the morning, the snowmen have gone to sleep.
For Christmas, the snowmen make more snowmen so that they can have a snowman
choir. They wear nice clothes with stars of silver and gold, and they all wear
read velvet hats. And then they sing Christmas carols and look up at the most
beautiful star of all, sitting on top of the tallest Christmas tree of all, shining
in the night.
Merry Christmas – to children and snowmen everywhere!
